A large .number of unpublished Stevenson letters, the property of Mr Lloyd Osborne, are to be sold at Sotheby's on July 21. AVriting to his father- in 1878, Stevenson said: "It is a strange ■world indeed, but there is a manifest ■God for those who care to look for Him." He describes Dr Chalimens, the missionary as the only hero he ever met, and remarks: ' - My friends come out rather third best in .my literature."
