ENTERTAINMENTS.
PRINCESS THEATRE. The 'new programme to bo screened at the Princess Theatre to-night embraces a variety of subjects which will be found by picture patrons to well maintain the high standard of excellence associated with this management. A remarkable drama of the American Biograph Company, "Tho Mothering Heart' is billed as the principal attraction and will bo found to portray an absorbing etorv, the jriot of which ia said to be decidedly out of the common Productions of the Vitagraph Ck>. are always appreciated, its contribution to tho present programme "Out of the Storm" being described as a fine human drama with that desideratum of picture audiences, an exceedingly happy ending. "Polly tho Scout and the Jewel Thieves" realistically shows tho value of scout training on the younger generation, while yet another powerful story conspicuously well acted and photographed, "Tho Girl and the Gambler" will be foun<J a stirring dramatio feature. An excellent scenic, "Wann Lakes," tho popular N.Z. Animated Gazette and four bright comedies will make up a series of unusual strength and variety. THEATRE ROYAL. To-night's change of programme at the Theatre Royal will take the form of a benefit entertainment to Miss Frances Snodgrass, who has acted as pianiste to tho proprietary of tho Royal Standard Pictures for some considerable time and who is about to leave the town. The now bill contains a notable series of films, premier place being allotted to an intensely human and powerful reproduction of real life entitled "The Doll." Another fine dramatic feature "The Ranchero's Revonge," is a strong support to the star ! 'an Edison masterpiece "High 7 .«j:- .. Misfortune" deals convincingly with the courage, wit and endurance of a woman, file scenio section contains two specially fine productions—a travel film depicting some wonderful mountain scenery in the Caucasus, and "Lakeland of Bavaria. The New Zealand Animated News and three well selected comedies oomplete a programme which should find much ft.vor with tho proprietary's many patrons.
