PATHE PICTURES. The programme screened by Mf McLean in the Dominion Hall last evening was certainly of a very high standard and well deserved the hearty applause it received. "Then You'll Remember Me" depicts how a young married man who was the- sole survivor of , a shipwreck loses his memory ana with hair turned grey again finds his wife on hearing her sing "Then You'll Remember Me" at a dance given in his honor. "Cross-country Riding by Belgian Cavalry," a fine picture showing the daily routine of one of the crack regiments in the Belgian Army, was a treat in itself. "Rambles through Yorkshire," a scenic film of a very high order, was watched with keen interest, also ' 'Patho Gazette No. 38," illustrating some of the principal events to date. "Calino as Guide," which kept the audience in roars of laughter, concluded a fine programme. DANGE AT MATAURA. The Mataura Lodge 1.0.0. F. held its opening social of the season in the Horticultural Hall last night, when there was a good attendance, fully 60 couples being present. Visiting brethren were present from outside lodges, P;N.G. Bro. T. Lewis representing Marama Lodge (Morton Mains) and Bro. Hayles Pioneer Lodge (Invercargiil). The floor was in splendid trim and the hall was artistically decorated, the walls being covered with flags and evergreens. Flags were also hung from the ceiling and 1 in the centre of the building as one entered the dancing area the words "Mataura Welcomes You" arrested attention. The surroundings together with the excellent music provided by Harvey's orchestra, consisting of Miss Harvey (piano), Mr Harvey (violin) and Mr D. Taylor (clarionet) left nothing to he desired. The control of the programme was in the capable hands of Bros. Hayles {secretary), F. O'Neill, and Jno Milne. At a suitable interval the members of the lodge dispensed refreshments supplied by Messrs C. D. MeConnell and Co. after -which dancing was resum€"Ji and kept up until an early hour this morning. The members of the lodge are to be congratulated on the excellent arrangements made and it is to be hoped the social will be the forerunner of many like functions during the season.
