A shell exploded in a trench and wounded several Italians. The guns of the cruiser Carlo Alberto scattered the enemy, puttting a portion of their battery out of action. Four of the remaining guns were captured. An airman dropped four bombs into the enemy's camp at Ainara, causing a stampede of horses and soldiers. OFFICERS IN DISGUISE. i ATHENS,, Nov. 2. A hundred Turkish officers have left Constantinople in disguise for Tripoli and Cyrenaica, via Egypt and Tunis. A TURKISH SUGGESTION. i CONSTANTINOPLE, Nov. 2. Turkish newspapers, inspired by rumors, of victories, suggest that the Powers, which failed to take steps to prevent Italian aggression, must be requested to renounce capitulatory rights. It is added that Austria-Hungary and Germany have given promises to that effect. GERMAN SYMPATHY. BERLIN, Nov. 2. German sympathies are wholly on the side of the Turks, whose version of the fighting is generally accepted by the press. This attitude is attributed to the belief that Germany's position would become easier if her ally suffered adversity.
