"TOO MEAGRE."

TWENTY POUNDS A DAY. Duke Dimezzo, a wealthy nobleman, committed suicide at Milan lately, and an investigation into the tragedy disclosed some extraordinary features. Evidence taken at the inquiry revealed ,-the fact that the duke was in receipt of an income of £2O a day. This, it was stated, 'lie rogarded as "too meagre," and his poverty was one of the reasons why he had taken his life. Another reason was that his brother had previously committed suicide.
