HOSE TURNED ON SYNAGOGUE.

At Hull Arthur Dick, a barman, was lined 20s and costs for disturbing a religious service at the Central Synagogue. On the day in question, it was stated, the Jewish custom of sounding a ram's horn was performed, and the defendant, objecting to the sound, turned a hosepipe on the synagogue. The congregation, thinking the building was on fire, rushed out. Several people were drenched. The defendant was also summoned for assaulting the president of the congregation, and judgment was respited on payment of costs.
