GUEST'S DRINKING FEAT. PEIt UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Jan. 28. Reuben Asher Marks, who was charged at the Magistrate's Court at Tan marunui with selling intoxicating liquor was fined £4O and £7 4s, costs of the prosecution. It is alleged that a resident of Tau marumii returned there from Aucklant on Christmas Eve and instead of goin< home remained in and about defen daut's premises for five days. On tlx 28th ult. he was' discovered making foi Marks' premises laden with sevei bottles of whisky, which were seized bi the police. Next day the resident re turned home minus a considerabli amount of money which he paid ti Marks and with the liability to pa; more, .mainly for "hop beer and cray fish." 'The place has been watched fo three months and a number of men whi entered sober were seen corning awa; intoxicated. Defendant alleged that his gues drank 86 bottles of hop beer and twi bottles of lime juice in 3} days.
