KILLED IN THE BUSH.

PER TJNITEP riIERS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Aug. 21. The Whitianga correspondent of the 'Herald' telegraphs that a fatal accident occurred at Stoney Creek bush yesterday. A man named Edward Larkins, working for Mr George Wallace, contractor, was looking after some kauri logs, preparatory to their being shifted by a steam hauler, when in the act of loosing a boulder that was obstructing the progress of one of the logs the grips flew out, striking him on the side of the head, and fracturing the base of the skull. He was carried to Tairua by his mates, and brought to the Mercury Bay Hospital by motor launch, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.
