A SATISFACTORY POSITION,

Tito annual mooting of the Gore llrass Hand ,was hold in Ihe baiidrooin last evening. About twenty members, .of the Band were present, besides Messrs A. A. .MucGibbon (Mayor), F. Young. fJ. The report and balance-sheet, was read as under:— Gentlemen,—On behalf of jour committee your secretary begs to submit the following report for the year ending January lil, 1909; also' the bal-ance-sheet and statement, of affairs for the same period. Commencing the year with a credit l.alauce of £29 lis :id, the baud has just closed a very successful finundinl year with a balance in the bank of £SO 1 f>s 2d. and ono outstanding account (the Gore Trotting Club) of £5, which means that the baud- now have a. credit balance of £OS Lis 2d, and with the assets (£155 (is 2d) and no liabilities you must admit that the position is \ cry satisfactory. T'raser), who did all in his power to further the interests of Ihe band whilst he was) with us: hut owing to belter offers being made to him as regards his daily employment he thought it better to go.
