Mr lleattie (chief mechanical engineer) completed the calling of cvidcuc Imt said that he desired to give evidence himself. He preferred to do so, however, in the form of an address to the Commission when the evidence was completed. The Chairman of the Commission said that hotli Sir iieattie and Mr Hampton (tho men's representative) would be given an opportunity of summing up. Mr Hampton is now calling evidence from tho men mainly in the direction of showing that the discipline and activity at Addillgt-on are unite as marked as elsewhere. During the inquiry one witness ihmv somo light on the question of casual labor. "I am a casual," ho said in reply to a question from tho chairman, Professor Scott; "you gave me the job about twenty-three years ago." Later.
