Counsel lor the newspaper 'Peopje' tendered an unqualified apology, and accepted Mr Lloyd-George's terms, the verdict being given accordingly, iu regard to the statement published alleging that Mr Lloyd-Georgo paid the sum of £20,000 to prevent being sued in a divorce suit. Mr Lloyd-George, iu tho witness box, said there was not the slightest foundation for any statements made by the 'People.' The Judge considered that Mr Lloyd-Georgo had acted with extreme moderation.
