BEAUMONT EACES. The Beaumont races were held yesterday in splendid weather and before a large attend•once of the public. Speculation was brisk, and the racing of an interesting nature. Following are the results : Maiden Plate—Call Boy 1, Forest King and Hedgehope (dead heat) 2; dividend, £1 12s. President's Welter—Lady Dundas 1, Mayo 2, Dartmoor 3. Dividend, £4 10s. Dunkeld Trot—Valerie 1, John Temple 2, Achates 3; dividendc, £2 19s and £9. Beaumont Handicap—OUchance 1, Lady Dundas 2; dividend, £2 lis. Novel Race—Picket 1, Dartmoor 2, Annoyance 3; dividond, £2 9s. The winner -wis bought in. Flying Handicap—Trentbridge 1, Mayo 2, Lady Dundas 3; dividend, £2 9s. Farewell Trot—Good Hope 1, Yeoman 2. RIVERTON RACES. The Riverton Racing Club's Easter meeting was opened yesterday in fair weather. The attendance was excellent and the racing good. The C.J.C. Autumn meeting opened at Christchurch yesterday in fine weather, when there was a large attendance and £12,508 was passed through the totalisator. Results: —Hurdles—Eoller 1, Nance O'Neill 2, Clanburn 3; dividend, £1 183. Champagne Stakes—Treadmill 1, Machine Gun 2, Gdld Crown .3; dividend, £5 Is. The trotting match between the New Zealand champion (Ribbonwood) and the Australian champion (Piiizj for £SOO aside and a cup value £IOO, bunt three out of five heals, over a mile course, was run off at Christchurch on Saturday. The race was a gift to Ribbonwood, who won the first three heats with the greatest ease, the times being 2min. 14sec, 2min. Msec., and 2min. lOscc.
