CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKETS.

Tho yarding of all classes of stook at Addington ou Wednesday, with the exception of store sheep, was slightly above the average. The entries for the day comprised 9454 sheep and lambs, 291 head of cattle, and 439 pigs. Fat Cattle : A good entry, mostly of good to prime quality, witb a few pens of extra prime steers. Competition for all good lots was brisk, a few pens of extra prime five-year-old steers making up £9 7s Gd, or fully 203 per 1001 b, inferior and cow beef from 14s Gd to 17s. Prices realised were : Steers £5 to £9 7s 6d, heifers £4 us to £G 17s, and cows £3 17s Gd to £7. Dairy Cows : Milkers poorly represented, with one or two exceptions, good springers selling at from £7 to .-C8 15s ; infetior sorts hard to quit. Fnt Sheep : Entry slightly above the averago of the past few weeks in point of numbers, aud while thero wero somo pens of extremely good quality, both iii wethers and ewes, there were a number of half-finished sheep. Prioes realised were as follows : Extra heavy crossbred wethers 39s to 21s, freezing do 10s to 18s, do mixed sexes 14s tc 17s 9d, lighter sort3 l2s 9d to 13s 9d, freezing maiden ewes 14s to 16s, and extra heavy to 18s lOd, butchers' good ewes 13s to 16s lOd, medium do 9s to 12s 9d, iuferior sorts Bs, meriuo wethers 9s 9d to lis, aud ewes Gs lOd to lis. Fat Lambs : Small entry ; prices hardly as firm. Freezing lambs from 9s to lis, second-class 7s to 8s Gd. Pigs : Medium entry ; competition all round hardly as brisk, baconers making from 30s to 45s Gd, or from 3£d to 3>,<X por lb, porkers 19s to 255. .
