HEDGEHOPE.
The bachelors of this district held their annual invitation ball on Thursday night, 23rd met, The schoolhouse was uncomfortably filled. " Who was belle ©f the ball ?" This would be a very difficult matter to decide, as the ladies, one and all, looked remarkably well, The music was all that could be desired, and the eatables were in abundance, I have no doubt everyone enjoyed ' themselves to their hearts' oontent ; but it would be as well at these annual balls if some of the bachelors put on less " side," May 29,
