Gore Horse Parade.

— ♦» The annual parade of stallions, under the auspices of the Gore A. and P» Association, took place on Ba<uidaj last at the Park. A fair average number of horses turned out, and several more vt ould have been in attendance had they not already commenced their rounds. The quality left lit lo to be deeited, the turn-out showing that in all classes the district will be particularly well served* The entry, it will be noticed, was a slight improvement on last year's, but does n«t nearly touch 1892, which must apparently be regarded as something altogether exceptional :—

I There were a great many visitors in the town, but the modest shilling charged at the gate apparently induced a good many- to take an " outside ticket/ as the attendance was not nearly np to the mark. The arrangements were as usual first-class. The only horns among the Clydesdales new to the aia« triot were Lord Churchill «nd the young one from Krho, Salisbury's Champion, Doth cvi- ! deotly from their names being by the famous Lcrd Salisbury, and showing many of his characteristics. St Alexander (in charge of the redoutable Jimmy Cullen), Sir Bobert, Duncan Gillies, Bismarck, and Southern Prince, who made their bow last year, c6nfirmed the good impression then formed, lhe young ones ate' all greatly improved horees. Mr Allison's Young Baforeaer •• grows more like his d»d every day," and Prime Minister and Botbwell, old favorites, do not suffer in public esteem when brought ft to comparison with the later arrivals, Among the lighter howes Wolverine attracted considerable notice. Be is built on grand lines, and his performances say all the rest that is necessary for him. Mon Loup is a very taking horse, and Forerumer should prove a mo>t eervicsable sire. Conjuror is too well-known in the district to require puffing, and apparently he is quite lit again, and up to either racing or stud duty. Mr G. Marshall's importation Gcanton was gieatly fancied. He ib a Trump Card and we learn that ten by the same sire are doing work in Measrß D. and J. Bacon's Dunedin stables, all good looking horses, wbiob should he a guarantee of Granton's roadsier«getting a lilities. Of old favorites Torrent's appearance is a credit to Mr Martin, who has him in rare nick, fie is certain to do a big round, and looks qaite up to it. Don Pedro ia also m good fettle and bis graceful lines were muoh admired. Mr Key is to be congratulated on the acquisition of so good a horse as King Harold, who looked a perfect pictnre ; and Bismarck, Mr Walker's recent ; purchase, should also prove a profitable | inve tment. Mr Tilson had RoUßer on view, ; but Heroules has gone to fresh fields (Tua- \ peka), where he will no doubt make as good | a record as he has left behind him. The j limarn trio— Kingston, Elector, and the pouy Doctor— also met with considerable attention. The two former are really good \ stamps of hoise, and should do well, and I the pony was of course a favorite. following is a list of the entries :— CLYDESDALES. .'
