It is expected that at a meeting of tho Cabinet early in January ono portion of the Retrenchment Scheme will bo that numerous officials will reooive notioo that their services are no longer required. Tho proposal to bring a toam of English footballors to New Zealand will be further considered by tho Wellington Rugby Union after tho holidays.
