Curious Robberg of Jewellery.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 10. During a cab accident in Queen-street on the night of April 2G last, Mrs Anson, a passenger from Sydney by tho Rotonmliana, lost £250 worth of jewellery. The matter was reported to the police next day. George Clime, said to be iormerly a member of the Armed Constabulary, was arrested to-day on the charge of stealing the jewellery. George Clime was brought before the Police Court to-day on the charge of stealing jewellery, valued at £250, from Mrs Mason. William Clune, a son of the prisoner, was accused of a similar charge, but it was dismissed, as it transpired that tlie other implicated party was a brother, not a son of the elder prisoner, and that he had not been yet arrested. Tho case Tvaa adjourned till Tuesday.!
