(Per Press Association.) Wellinu ton, May 10. Dr Ilacon, of Sunnysidc Asylum, Christchurch, is to bo transferred to Wellington Asylum, and Dr Leaving takes Dr Ilacon’s place. It is also understood that Dr Scagcr, of Sutmysidc, is to be transferred, but it is not settled yet where lio will go. The removal of the debris from the Post Olfico is finished; and the walls are all braced up with wire ropes. The official insp ction will take place to-day or to-morrow.

CIVIL SERVICE REDUCTIONS. (Per I’ress Association.) Wellington, May 10. Numerous reductions arc being made in the Public Works Department throughout the Colony, a*d this morning fifty notices were issued to or posted to officials, intimating that their services would be dispensed with at the end of September. Among those reduced are several of the high officials, including two in Willington and one in Christchurch.
