THE NEW GUINEA MASSACRES. [By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association). Sydney, Nov. 4. At a meeting of the Ang’ican Synod ye.-terday, a motion in favor of submitting the propriety of introducing the revised version of the Old Testament into the public services to the Bench of Bishops was carried. The question of creating the Primato an Archbishop has been referred to the Bishops at Home. Indignation meetings continue to be li Id throughout the colony and resolutions ate passed at each asking for a dissolution of Parliament. Nearly a thousand unemployed have daily been supplied with rations by the Government. A large number of merj are now being drafted off to parts where relief works are established. Melbourne, 4th November. Arsenal’s victory in the Cup has drawn £50,000 from the ring. Cooktown, 4th November. A largely attended public meeting passed resolutions asking the Admiral to take immediate steps to punish the murderers in the recent massacres in New Guinea. T he Agent-General has been instructed to bring the matter under the notice of the Imperii! Government, and point out that the existing state of affairs o innot continue. Over 200 are ready to pay their own expences and proceed to the scene of the massacre. The Courier publishes a list of over 80 murders committed by New Guinea natives.
