OMAKA ROAD BOARD.

The above Board met this morning. Present Messrs Redwood (chairman), Eyles, Hiley, and Mills. Ma Andrell’s tender for metalling 15 chains of Dillon’s Point road for LI 5s 5d per chaiu was accepted. The Inspector of Works reported that the damage done to the Fairhall bridge by the late floods had been repaired ancl that the road was now as good as before the late rains. On the motion of Mr Hiley, seconded by Mr Mills, it was resolved that any member of the Board may attend the meeting of delegates of local bodies to be held to-day. It was resolved that the question of a grant to the Wairau Hospital be considered at the next meeting. Mr McLennan interviewed the Board concerning a road which he alleges goes through his land. It was proposed by Mr MilD, and.seconded by Mr Redwood, that the Secretary write to Mr Sharp stating that McLennan threatens to close the road through Renwick, and that the Trustees have either sold the road to McLennan or Mills, and that the Board expects the Trustees-to see matters put right. The motion was carried.

Ou the motion of Mr Hiley, seconded by the chairman, it was resolved that in view of the impending elections this meeting adjourn to the third Tuesday in July. It was decided that the Inspector of Works be instructed to get the water cress removed from the upper drain leading from Dashwood Pass Hoad. The Inspector was instructed to get a culvert fixed on the west side of Kelly’s bridge, and the necessary works done in connection therewith. The following accounts were passed and paid :—Tapp, L2 Is ; Davies, L2 ; Watson, L 3 10s; Compton, LI ; Jordan, L 24 ; Gridley, L 6 4s ; O’Leary, L 4 7s Gd; Hopgood, 7s ; Ching, 4s; Furness and Boundy, L 4 9d ; Omaka Licensing Committee, L 3 Gd ; Local Option E'ection, LI Is ; Returning Officer Licensing Committee, Ll Is. The Board then adjourned.
