SPRING CREEK ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of this Board was held on Wednesday last at 2 p.m. Pre«ent —Messrs J. H. Redwood (chairman) Geo. Dodson, H. Soper, W. Robinson, and Isaac Gifford. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Chairman reported that since they had last met, a public meeting of the settlers had been held relative to the erection of a bridge over the Wairau at Gonland’s Ferry, and a resolution had been passed requesting this Board to solicit the co-operation of various local bodies to attend a conference for the purpose of urging upon the Government the necessity of erecting the bridge. He was unable to be present at the meeting, but the resolution had been forwarded to him, and as Chairman of the Board he had invited the local bodies mentioned in the resolution to meet him in the Council Chamber, Blenheim, on Tuesday, 13th June, in order to decide on the best means to be adopted in the matter. A letter was received from the Secre-' tary of the Wairau Hospital, the consideration of which was held over until next meeting. An application was receive! from Mr Win. The Inspector was instructed to examine the ditches in Vickennan-sHeet south, and also in f.-ont of the Wesleyan Chapel, Grovetown. It was decided to metal the road near Mr Soper’s with 4-ioch metal, the metalling of Selmes’s road to stand over until tiie.spriug. The following accounts were passed for payment : —Audrell (balance), LI 216 sSd ; Andrell, L2O Is 3d ; Kennedy, L4l 10s ; Henricksen, L 5 9s Gd. The Board then adjourned.
