CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
MATAMATA WINS BARRATT CUP
Teams from various parts of the province competed on Saturday for the Barratt Cup in a trap-shooting, contest conducted by the Metropolitan Gun Club on its up-to-date grounds at Mangere, Auckland. There was an excellent attendance. Eight teams,, each of seven shooters, entered as; follows: Metropolitan, holder of the cup, Matamata, Auckland, Cambridge, Takapuna, Hauraki. Hamilton and Pukekohe. The successful team was that from the Matamata Club (E. Wright 15, H. Davis 15, W. McLean 15, F. H. McFarlane 13, E. Davis 12, G. Brown 11. J. Pennell 10)—total 91. Second place was filled by Hamilton (W. Brinkworth 15, J. Dobson 13, T. Henry 13; W. Gribble 12, C. Seddon 12, E. Bogun 11. E. Duncan 10)—total 86. Metropolitan was third with a total of 85; then followed Cambridge 83, Hauraki 81, Auckland 80, Takapuna and Pukekohe 78.
The possible was 105. This is the first time the cup has left Auckland*
