Mr. Milton Morison, auctioneer, of Matamata, reports as the following as some of the prices realised at his sale on Wednesday:— Cedar posts, £6 10s. Rimu battens, 18s per 100. Cattle pups, 2s 6d each. Stumps jack, £3 10s. Poultry.— Killing hens, Is 6d to 2s Id. Roosters, 2s 3d to 3s. Pullets, black, 5s to 6s 2d; white, 4s 6d to 5s 3d. Killing ducks, Is 7d to 2s. Young Muscovies, 3s. Chicks, 6d to 9d. Produce.—« Potatoes, 3s bag; 6s 6d sack. Pumpkins, Id lb. Marrows, 3d each. Melons, Id pound, Is to 2s each. Watermelons, Is to 2s each. Onions, 6s bag. Rhubarb, 2d to 4d bundle. Cucumbers, Id to 2d each. Carrots, 4 s bag. Cabbages, 2d to 4d each. Fruit.— Cooking apples, 4s to 5s 4d; dessert, 5s 9d to 7s case. Figs, 6d lb. Passion fruit, 4s chse. Pears, cookers, 5s 6d to 6s 3d; dessert, 6s to 7s 9d. Lemons, Is dozen. Peaches, 4s 3d case. Books, furniture and sundries sold well.
