Advance payments in December, January and February of Is per lb for superfine butterfat for butter manufacture and Is Id per lb for first grade butterfat for cheese manufacture were agreed to at a meeting of the South Auckland Dairy Association on Thursday. Mr. S. A. Ferguson presided. At a conference in September the representatives of the dairy companies operating in the Waikato had agreed on a uhiform payment of Is for butter and Is Id for cheese, so that the resolution this week maintains the rate of advances that have been ruling during the spring months.
Question of a Bonus A notice of motion by Mr. W. Harbutt (Cambridge Dairy Company) that the advance payment be reduced by id with a view to providing a bonus to suppliers at the end of the season, did not receive much support. An amendment by Mr; C: J. Parlane (N.Z;G.I>:C.);;- 'tha£'tibio~: rates of ; advance payments be unaltered, was supported by Mr. J. E. Leeson (Mois ririsville Company) and . Mr. A.
