MATAMATA COUNTY ROADS.
ENGINEER’S REPORT. Reporting on maintenance work on roads in the Matamata County during May and June the engineer gave the following particulars at the July meeting:— ' Graders Kept Busy. Power graders have continued their normal work of maintenance of main highways and main roads, and in addition brushed up the following riding roads: Old Te Aroha north and south, Okauia Springs, Pohlen’s, Burwood, Banks’, Puketutu, Matai, Peria, Totman’s, Hetherington’s, Tapapa, Waiomou, Tirau-Okoroire, Okoroire- Waiomou, Lake, Puketurua, Brunskill’s, Oliver’s, Head’s, Stokes’, Somerville’s, Mangawhero, south, Okoroire-Te Poi, OkoroireTirau. Horse, graders and drags assisted on some sections of main highways and main roads as well as the following riding roads: Campbell, Tokoroa, Matai, Buckland, Davidson’s Rangitanuku, Moore’s, Okoroire-Te Poi, Livingstone’s, Old Te Aroha south, Raparapa. Metal for the Roads. Materials delivered to roads.during May and June for maintenance included 1966 cubic yards of metal and shingle to No. 18 main highway; 174 of rock to No. 19 main highway; 20 of shingle to No. 20 main highway; 906 of rock to Waotu main road; 319 of shingle to Karapiro main road; 130 of metal to Mata-mata-Waharoa main road; 164 to other main roads; 15 of san( * Okauia north; 602 of sand to Pohlen’s road; .32. of shingle to Mangawhero road; eight of 0 Maisey’s road; 76 of shingle to Morgan’s road; 15 of shingle to Matai road; 42 of sand to Banks’ road, 11 of sand and 10 of metal to Totman s road; 158 of shingle to Parapara road; 15 of sand to Taotaoroa road; 59 of shingle to Te Poi-Okoroire road- 24 of shingle to Hethermg ton’s’ road; 10. of shingle to Paraparamu road; 19 of shingle to Webster’s road; lour of shingle to Wai-ontou-Tapapa road; eight of shin o to Pakaraka road; 20 of shingle to Taumangi and Overdale; 1048 of shingle- to Orepunga and 56 shingle to Old Taupo road.
