MORRINSVILLE METHODISTS
CIRCUIT QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly board meeting was held at Waitoa and was presided over by Rev. F. Gardner Brown, and was well attended.
Letters of sympathy were authorised to be sent to the family of the late Mr. H. W. Hopkins in their recent bereavement; also to Mrs. W. Woodley and Miss Hetherington, respectively, in their indisposition. Membership returns were reported to be the same as last meeting. Mr. H. Clothier, on rising to present the quarter’s balance-sheet, was accorded a hearty welcome to his new office as financial steward. The balance-sheet wds read and adopted.
It was resolved that the annual appeal for circuit funds take the form of a bank note and silver tree.
The question of providing another circuit car was discussed at length, and the meeting finally authorised the circuit steward to procure same.
The meeting decided to support and urge its members and adherents throughout the circuit to assist the “ Come-to-church ” campaign to be conducted during the month of August.
Encouraging reports were given by representatives of the circuit young people’s activities, Ladies Guild (with their work for the church, orphanages and local relief depot) and Women’s Missionary Auxiliary.
