SUCCESSFUL DANCE.
Despite the inclemency of the weather there was a good attendance at, the Matamata Volunteer Fire Brigade’s dance in the Town Hall on Tuesday. Mr. S. Holland’s orchestra of* six (Mr. Schofield, pianist) played the latest dance music. Miss T. Devey played an extra. Mr. K. Henry was -M.C. and was assisted by other members of the organisation committee, who are to be congratulated on the success of the function.

Rainger, primrose celanese taffeta appliqued in blue and red ; M. Tims, gold spotted net over green satin; E. Stewart, crimson silk net and satin; I. Rowe, black satin and tulle ; T. Devey, black georgette ; D. Yanko, gold and brown figured velvet ; E. Baker, peach satin radiant, ankle-length frock; R. Churchward, pale lemon silk net; L. Maude, flame crepe charmeuse picture frock; A. Sutherland, ivory frilled georgette ; D. Egan, pessache blue georgette ;* E. Radcliffe, claret velvet and lace ; E. Pilldngton, flame crepe celanese ; C. Geraghty, lemon silk: net and taffeta ; P. Whitworth, night blue geoTgette and lace; B. Ellery, jonquil yellow velvet; M. Leadbeater, powder blue taffeta and lace ; I. Baker, cornflour blue satin ; E. Finch, ivory georgette and silk net patterned with silver thread; K. Shaw, deep cherry crepe de chine; A. Miles, printemps green silk net; T. Hancock, black crepe de chine ; P. Hammond, sunset gold shot taffeta; B. Forbes, black lace over satin; M. Schwarz, powder pink georgette and rose velvet bridge coat; Arnold, black taffeta ; Hancock, peach satin.
