SUCCESSFUL DANCE.

Despite the inclemency of the weather there was a good attendance at, the Matamata Volunteer Fire Brigade’s dance in the Town Hall on Tuesday. Mr. S. Holland’s orchestra of* six (Mr. Schofield, pianist) played the latest dance music. Miss T. Devey played an extra. Mr. K. Henry was -M.C. and was assisted by other members of the organisation committee, who are to be congratulated on the success of the function.

Pilldngton, flame crepe celanese ; C. Geraghty, lemon silk: net and taffeta ; P. Whitworth, night blue geoTgette and lace; B. Ellery, jonquil yellow velvet; M. Leadbeater, powder blue taffeta and lace ; I. Baker, cornflour blue satin ; E. Finch, ivory georgette and silk net patterned with silver thread; K. Shaw, deep cherry crepe de chine; A.
