Walton.
Personal. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Gillingham, who have been on a three or four weeks’ motor; tour of the Whangarei district, have returned home. Mr. and'Mrs. Arthur Waller are visiting Mr, and Mrs. H. Waller, Walton. Mr. and Mrs. W. McLean left eai'ly in the week on a motor trip to Waverley and other districts. Mr. George Attwood is staying with his sister, Mrs. Mack Johnstone. Miss B. Bucking, who has been on a visit to Mrs. Adams, junr., has returned to her home in Thames. Football Practice. Walton players are showing keenness for the coming season, and for the past two Saturdays a good number of intending players and onlookers have rolled up to have a “ few kicks.” Mr. Dixon’s paddock is again being used. Euchre Party. The weekly euchre parties are continuing in popularity. Last Saturday’s attendance . was exceptionally good and an enjoyable evening was spent. Dance music was supplied by Mr. Von Sturmer and Misses Adams and Nicholls acted as organisers of the evening. Improvements. A working;bee has been busily engaged making improvements to the school grounds. Banks are being cleared away, and the big drive up to the school and part of the playground have been tar-sealed.
