Sunday School Picnic. On Saturday the Methodist .Sunday Scuuol cmiurtn were treated to their annual picnic, which was held at the residence of Mr. R. Hawke, who is the superintendent, and who, for many years, has been an ardent Sunday school worker in the district. The weather was ideal, and young and old joined in the sport and made the day most enjoyable. The adults and elder scholars occupied the day with cricket and rounders matches, while the smaller fry patronised the swings and see-saws .which had been erected for their benefit. During the afternoon Mr. F. Vosper presented the Sunday School prizes to the following winners:— Special Prizes for Help Given at Sunday School.—Miss .Florence Settle and Miss Jean Troughton. Mr. Hawke’s Class. — Roy Conder 1, Phil Hawke 2, Travers Hayes 3. Mr. H. Troughton’s Class;—Mary Troughton 1, Molly Hermann 2, Mavis Hawke 3. Miss J. Miss Settle’s Class.—Meryl Hawke 1, Heather Germann 2, Patty-Cooke 3. Each child received a handsome book. During the day a sports programme was run, the prize-winners receiving money and toys.
