HEALTH BY SIMPLE MEANS.

(By H. C. Aylen) There are certain simple remedies, to be used externally to relieve inanimation, which the skilful Home Nurse may make. These should be kept under lock and key, together with supplies of lint, bandages, safety-pins, and a clinical thermometer. Here is a useful recipe: Liniment for Rheumatic Pains and Bruises. Well beat one raw egg, add half a pint of vinegar, one ounce of spirits of turpentine, a quarter of an. ounce of spirits of wine, and a quarter of an ounce of camphor. Mix all together, put into a bottle and shake for ten minutes. Cork tightly to exclude the air, and in half an hour the liniment will be ready for use. Senna-Tea for Children. A good way to induce children to take senna-tea is to make the tea, put in a few raisins and leave it m the oven until the raisins have soaked up all the tea. As most children like raisins, they will eat them without any bother, including the senna they have absorbed. * , To Make Camphorated Oil. Take one ounce of turpentine, one ounce of sweet oil, and one pennyworth of cake camphor. Put the oil and turpentine together in a bottle; cut the camphor into small pieces and add this. The turpentine will dissolve the camphor and when all gredients are well blended the oil will be ready for use. Aromatic Vinegar. Procure from a herbalist or chemist * a handful each of sage, mint, rosemary, rue and wormwood. Infuse the herbs in two quarts of vinegar, leave the covered jar for a week on a warm hearth, then strain the contents through a muslin bag. Add half an ounce of camphorated spirits of wine, an bottle for use, corking the bottle firmly. Two drops in d little cold water ■will often cure a sick-headache.
