HARVEST FESTIVAL.

• METHODIST SERVICES. The last of the season’s harvest services under the auspices of the Methodist Church were held at Te Poi and Waharoa last Sunday. At Te Poi a splendid array of gifts were tastefully arranged in a pleasing colour scheme, while the singing was assisted by the' Matamata choir. The Rev. Brown preached from the parable of the barren fig tree which taught, amongst other things, that great privilege involved great responsibility. God Would hold them responsible as Christian fruit-bearers up to the limit of their capacity. Their first business was fruitfulness, and after* that came usefulness. The receipts from the sale of the goods held on the following evening was a record for Te Poi. At Waharoa the service wrfs well attended, and a bright and helpful meeting was conducted"T)y Mr. H. E. Schofield. The attendances at all services showed an increase over the previous year.
