GOLDEN-HAIRED DECOY.
A new ruse of handbag snatchers —especially the ones who use a car —is to have a charming golden-hair-ed young woman with thereto give them an air of harmlessness. One such accompanied two men in a raid at Finchley (London) recently —a fair woman in a close-fitting hat, and she sat next to the driver. What, then, would one suspect when such an innocent-looking party draws up at the pavement and a man gets out to ask the way? (says the Daily Mail). Nothing, Mrs Sheldon, of The Ridgeway, Finchley, suspected nothing, and was about to direct the man to the street he mentioned when suddenly he snatched her handbag, jumped back into the car, and drove away. The handbag contained £B.
