ON THE SCREEN.
MATAMATA. Esther Ralston, one of the most bewitching blondes of the screen, is to be seen in the newest Paramount picture, “ Love and Learn,” to be screened at the Matamata Town Hall on Friday. Esther is the only daughter of quarrelling parents, and decides to unite the home by giving them something to worry about. A girl at any time, most people will agree, is something to worry about, but when she decides to deliberately get into trouble, well —. Hoot Gibson is coming to the Matamata Town Hall on Saturday in what promises to be the biggest hit of his career as a movie cowboy. It is said that in “ Painted Ponies,” from the story by John J. Hamlin, Hoot does so many daring stunts on the backs of bucking animals that he proves again his right to the laurels as a cowboy champion.
HINUERA. “ Sensation Seekers,” to be shown at Hinuera on Saturday, is the story of a girl who sought sensations everywhere, yet had no illusions, hated sham and hypocrisy, laughed at conventions. And though she thought all love was lost she found it at last in the man she had ridiculed. This picture will be shown at Hinuera only.
