DAIRY COMPANIES ASSOCIATION
N.Z.C.D.C. OPINION. Mr. Sinclair Speaks Out. The Auckland Provincial Dairy Companies' Association came in for a great deal of criticism by Mr. A. J. Sinclair (general manager of the N.Z.C.D.C, Ltd.), at a meeting of suppliers' committees held at Morrinsvilie last week.
In opening his remarks with reference to the Auckland Provincial Daily Companies' Associations' action in supporting the Westfield Freezing Co.'s offer of storage space for butter and cheese, Mr. Sinclair said he would refer to this association as the Morrinsville Dairy Company's Association. He had been " slated" before because he had criticised this company, but he declared, as he had stated on other occasions, that the association did not represent five per cent of the total amount of produce manufactured in the Auckland province. If those connected with the association, he asked, did not admit this was correct, why did they not submit figures? The impression had got abroad in Wellington that the Auckland Provincial Dairy Companies' Association wa? a strong body representing not five per cent, but 95 per cent of the produce manufactured in the Auckland province. The opposition of this association to the Dairy Industry Amendment Bill had therefore been feared by the supporters until they had been informed to the contrary.
