GLENORCHY NOTES
Weather. There have been some very warm claya over the past week with high winds causing heavy dust storms down the Dart Valley. Conditions deteriorated at the week-end and there has been rain during the lust two evenings. Hall Committee. At a meeting of the Public Hall Society held on Saturday night the secretary, Air J, D. Smart, who is shortly leaving the district, tendered his resignation. Arrangements wore subsequently made for the vacancy to be tilled by Mr T. A. Bartlett, of Glenorchy. Personal. Guests at Earnslaw Hotel recently included: Mrs Booch, Miss E. Booch and Miss S. Me Lean, Dunedin; Ft./Sgt and Mrs Timney, Christchurch, Mr and Mrs Fields, Invercargill. Mr W. McPherson, who has been employed at State scheelite mines, Paradise, left for Burnham camp this week. Mr .las. Sanders, who has boon holidaying in Queenstown district, has returned to Glenorchy. Mr W. J. Craig, who has been visiting Christchurch, has returned to Hees Valley. Mr and Mrs W. Northeotc have returned' from a visit to Invercargill. ilrs Swinourno has returned to Glenorchy from a visit to Gore.
