QUEENSTOWN RATEPAYERS’ ASSOCIATION

There was a small attendance at the meeting of the Ratepayers' Association held in the Town Hall last evening. Mr Eoderique presided. The business was of a routine nature and after discussion of the power problem it was decided to send a deputation to the council at its meeting to-night with recommendations that the diesel repairs be speeded up and no hastyaction be taken before a poll of the ratepayers is taken. Further recommendations to be made by letter to the council are (1) that the local Railway office be asked to provide a waiting room for passengers; and (2) that a move be made to get a motor ambulance for use of the district as a whole. Mr Mclnnes stressed the need for same and said that it would be operated by volunteers from the local St. John Ambulance Brigade, who had ample equipment
