WOMEN’S DIVISION, N.Z.F.U.

ARRO v» TOWN BRANCH The first meeting of the Arrowtown branch of the W.D.F.U. for the year was held on the 21st inst. Mrs Bowler, president, presided over a small attendance. An encouraging letter was received from the Provincial President, Mrs Annan, asking the branch to do its utmost to carry on the meetings in spite of petrol restrictions. The organisation, she said, was torn in a time of stress, when it was felt there was a need for some common meeting ground where women could give and receive help, encouragement and friendship. They should try and have happy, cheerful meetings, and so relieve the strain of separation and dread from the hearts of all. The letter w r as much appreciated by those present, and all stated they would do their best to carry on. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem. Members are reminded that the annual meeting will be held on 21st of March. A full attendance is requested. j
