Miss 1) irothy Chewings is the guest of Mr and Mrs J. S. Eoyds. Miss Margaret Roy is spending a few days with Miss- M. Dawson. Mr and Mrs W. Menlove are visiting jtheir son at the Styx, Central Otago. Among .guests at the Watsou-Koch wedding on Saturday last nvere Mr S. Lane, Waimate, Messrs Tho® and W. Watson.. Invercargill. Miss Marshall and .Messrs G. and H. Koch:., Mr J. H. Robinson returned from Burnham camp on Friday Last and will await instructions from the military authorities for further service. Mr Robinson was engaged in instructing farriers in Burnham. The Rev. Stewart Douglas Millar was inducted in the charge of the Wa.kati.pu Parish on Friday night in St. Peter’s Church by Hi.s Lordship, Bishop Fitchett. There was a good attendance., of church people. At the meeting of the County Council ou Thursday last reference was made by the chairman and members to the recent death of Mr A. E. Juli, M.P. for Opa.wa, President of the Counties Association and an ex-mem-ber of the Main Highways Board. A motion of condolence with the relatives was recorded.
