A deputation from St. Peter s Mothers’ Union called at the vicarage last week and presented the outgoing vicar with a beautiful framed picture of “Befiectious in Lake Hayes,” and expressed good wishes from the local branch. Mr Fusselil thanked the Ladies for their thoughtfulness .and said he would always, value the guft. A pleasant and cheery evening was' spent at the Queenstown vicarage on Tuesday night when some forty pupils, past and present, of the District High School with the staff, gathered to say good-bye to the Bow. J. C. Fussclh The _ evening was spent in community singing, humorous stories and an amusing “Stump Speech” bv lan McLeod. On behalf of the High School. Joan O Connell presented Mr Fussell with a handsome cigarette case (well-filled), with the school badge on it, and a farewell scroll containing the names of students and staff. Mr Fussell! warmly thanked his visitors and expressed 'the happiness! he always'felt in 'association with the school. A tasty and bountiful supper _ was provided and served by the girls. Mrs G. AV. Mathews is sipending a holiday in Invercargill'. Miss McCallum, Dunedin, has ocen the guest of Mr and Mrs AA r . Medlines. Mrs Jago is visiting Dunedin Mrs L. McHenry is visiting Dunedin. , , Mr and Mrs P. Walker and family have returned to Invercargill after a holiday in Queenstown. Miss Bussell, has returned to AVlnton Mr and Mrs Cuthbert. Invercargill, are on holiday in Queenstown. Mr and Mrs Young, Invercargill, who were in Armour’s house have returned home. Mr and Mi's B. S. Brown, Dunedin, are their house,,‘Sans iSiouci,” Eastern Terrace. On Saturday evening last the Basketball girls hold a supper party at the Cafe Royal in honour of Miss D Sew Hoy who wins leaving for Christchurch. ’ During the event ig Miss n. AATiite presented Mis® Sew Hoy with a suit case and said that she had been connected with the club for manv years and would be very much missed’ She wished her success in her new career Miss Sew Hoy thanked the girls for their useful gift Miss Daphne Sew Hoy. who has been in the employ of Mr J. Boyds for the past three years., leaves this morning for Christchurch. Miss Sew Hoy is taking a six months course iim a hairdressing college.
The engagement is announced of Volina, second daughter of Mr Alex Kidd, and the late Mrs Kidd, and Michael John McCormack, only son of Mrs AA r C Lynch, of Queenstown., and the late Mr M. McCormack. Miss Henderson. matron of the Frankton hospital, leaves for Oamaru this morning on her annual holiday.

Menlove left by busi on Saturday morning for Invercargill and Hater they will visit Dunedin, During the progress of the dance at Lower Shotover on Friday night. Mr A. Buchanan, president of the Country Football Cliub. took the opportunity to present Mr and Mrs Reg Hansen with a handsome 1 chiming clock, as a wedding gift from the residents of Lower Shotover, including football members. Mr Buchanan congratulated Reg on the step he had taken and wished the young couple long fife and happiness. Mr Hansen suitably replied.
