Publicity Literature
We have received copies of two interesting pamphlets issued by the Publicity Department in Britain. Of these the Larger is entitled Neptune and deals with shipping in wartime. A particularly fine plate shows the picture by Chas. Pears. “The Convoy Sails" —a ' line of merchantmen guided and guarded by the small, .last destroyers . Mine-sweeping is- described bv the well-known naval writer. “Taffrail,” and illustrated by photographs. Other photographs show British Empire troops in the Near East. The second pamphlet is a call to work, viligance and courage.. Pictures of workers in practically every sphere of labour are shown. It states that ‘the greatest duty of all is to be calm, courageous and hopeful.’ There must be no moaning and complaining on the home front and there must be more understanding and mutual helpfulness than- in peacetime.’ The closing thought is a challenge to the people of the . Empire.—
“This is the hour when courage knows her own. When hearts grow stern that else were gay and warm When men and women are themselves the stone That holds these islands scathless in the storm.
Tins is the hour when pleasure is no more. Ease of the lovely fields, the tree, the flower. Only the rocks, the long valorous shore. The one unshaken heart. This is the hour.
