ARROWTOWN TERRITORIAL Association
A meeting of the committee was held in the Council Chambers on Wednesday evening last. _ Present: Messrs W. H. James (president), W. H. Thompson J. W. Reed, K. A- Hagait. W. J. Shaw, J. H. Douglas, E. L. Thompson; J. Fletcher, A. Reid. P. M. Tobin, and Eev K. I. iCameron (secretary). Lieut. E. E. Romans, officer in charge of the district territorials, w-as- also present. An apology for absence was- received from Mr D. H. Cockburn.
The membership fee w r as- fixed at 2s 6d for both ladies, and men and the following canvassers were appointed: Arrow town, Messrs J. H. Douglas, W, J. Shaw, and E. L. Thompson; Arrow Junction, Messrs K. A. Haggitt, and R. Shaw; Crow-n Terrace, Messrs W 11. Thompson and J. W. Reed; Gibbs--ton, Mr T. D. Scott; Lake Hayes, and Lower Shotover, Messrs A. Reid and D. R. Rowe; Millers Fiat and ArthursPoint Messrs W. H. James and J. Fletcher.
It was decided that the canvass of the district be completed by the sth September, on which date a further meeting will be held. The matter of procuring membership badges was left in the hands of Messrs Douglas and Eomans. Messrs R. Shaw 7 , T. D. Scott, and W. R. Saunders w’ere added to the committee.
It was decided to arrange for a rally to be held on the Arrowtowm Recreation Ground on Saturday, 14th October.
The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
