THE GARDINER CUP.

OTAGO RETAINS THE TROPHY

The annual match between Otago and Southland for the Gardiner Oup was played on Wednesday, 20th December 29th. Twenty-four rinks took part in this interesting match between the visiting bowlers of both provinces. The weather was perfect and the greens in splendid order. Otago were again the winners by a margin of 58 points. The following are the results, the Southland names appearing first D. M. S'candrett (s), W. J. McKitterick, L. Hanrahan and G. The weather was very warm and the green was in good order., The finalists were Mrs- Lewis of Wat mate and Airs Adess. It was a very tine game and the issue was in doubt until the final head.
