VICTORY DANCE.

On Wednesday evening last, a Victory Dance was held under the auspices ol' Rovers’ Basketball Club to celebrate the winning of the Gardiner Cup by Rovers A. team. The Garrison Hall was decorated for the occasion with greenery and streamers in the Club’s colours. There was a good attendance, and one and all voted the dance one of the jolliest of the season. Bright music was supplied by Mr Reg. Romans’ Band, and extras were played by Misses M. Inder and A,. MoSorilcy. During the evening a lucky spot waltz was Avon by Miss 0. Romans and Mr Wilson, and Mrs Barnett and Mr L. Tlallentire won the Monte Carlo fox trot. Mr J. C. Scott was M-C. During the supper interval Miss E. Mcßride, captain of St. Joseph’s team, who were runners-up in the Cup competition, congratulated Rovers A on their achievement. Miss Doris Harris, captain of the Rovers A team, responded. Members of the Shotover team were the guests of the club tor the evening.
