ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Queenstown charge was held in the Mackenzie Hall on Wednesday evening when a representative attendance of members was present. Rev D,. K. Boyd presided. The reports of the various organisations were presented and ■ showed that the work in the several t departments of the church's work had ■ been maintained throughout the ; year. The Communion roll numbered ' 124. During the year there had - been a loss of eight members of 1 whom six had jleift the (district and two 1 members had died. The work in the - Sunday schools at Queenstown and • Frankton was being continued under 1 the leadership of five teachers of !l whom two had commenced their ; work during the year. Miss J. Mof- ’ fett had found it necessary to re--1 linquisk the position of organist and ii choir leader as well as her place on the Sunday school staff. Miss M. ! MTnnes has been appointed to the [ position of organist. l The P. W.M.U. report presented by it Mrs A .Tripp, indicated a very active interest on the part of the Missionary i Union, the membership of which was 22. During the year, diligent atten- [ tion had Teen given to the objects of the group at the monthly meetings! i In addition, there had been held i under their asupices several social evenings, and the spring flower show, with the object of raising funds for mission and church objects. These functions' had been most successful in every way. The Busy Bees, under the leadership of Misses MTnnes and Boyne 1 had a membership of 14. During the year the children had interested themselves in making articles to be forwarded to the Maori Mission. By means of a concert programme arranged and carried out by the group £2 6s had been forwarded t-» the “Break of Day Christmas Gift."’ Bv this annual effort the Sunday School children of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand provide equipment for the mission stations at home, and abroad. This year an X-ray plant had been presented to the hospital in Canton. Mr J. W. Wallace, secretary of the Management Committee, reported that the church property was in good order except in respect of the Frankton and Millers Flat churches, which required a little attention. The financial statement presented by the treasurer, Mr A. 8,. Burns, indicated that the gross receipts for the year ended June 30 were £556 11s Bd. The total expenditure on local maintenance, missions and other objects had been £545 Is Bd, leaving a credit balance of £ll 10s. In moving the adoption of the balance sheet, the treasurer made complimentary reference to the work of the ladies of the congregation under the convenorship of "Miss M. L,. Hamilton, whose organising of the flower show had resulted in £55 7s Gd being added to the funds. Continuing, he said that it was encouraging to know that the ladies had begun arrangements for a similar function next month. Mr A. Gimson made complimentary reference to the work of the minister and his wife, the treasurer, Sunday school teachers, and other helpers during the year. The chairman (Rev. D. K. Boyd) thanked the members of the P.W.M.U. Sunday school teachers, management committee and all other organisations connected with the church who had given their services during the year. In some cases the work fell on the shoulders of a few faithful ones. The Sunday schoool teachers made considerable self-denial and he thought that parents could be of considerable assistance if they would give some of their time to the religious instruction of their children. ably looked alter the books and finances of the church. Mr Boyd also thanked Mr Simson for his kindly remarks concerning himself and Mrs Boyd. He wished to say, in turn, that they had received much kindness from the- church people. In conclusion lie hoped that the work would be maintained.
