AEBOWTOWN. The second qualifying round for the championships was played over the week-end. Those qualifying are as follows: Ladies.— Mrs Haggitt 226, Mrs James 230, Mrs Bitcliie 233, Miss Bomans 244, Mrs Beed 232, Miss Shaw 270, Mrs Swann 284, Mrs Douglas 295. Men Bomans 180, Goo'mes 197, Beed 204, Johnston 206, A. Murphy 209, Latta 213, Bitcliie 226, K, Ferguson 229. The draw for the first round of the men’s championship, to be playoy September sth, is as follows: Bomans v Ferguson, Goomes v Bitchie, Beed v Latta, Johnston v Murphy. The draw for the ladies’ matches will be announced later in the week. A stroke match for the button will be played by the remainder of the men, the draw being: James v Hannan, E. Saunders v A. Beid, W. P. Saunders v Dr. Ferguson. The winner of the button in the ladies’ section was Mrs Hqggitt, with Mrs Bitcliie runner-up. The winner in the men's section was A. Murphy, the runner-up being Goomes.
