PERSONAL.

Mr D. D. Fowler, of the local post office staff, has received notice of his transfer to the Danfurly office. While his many friends will be pleased to know that the change means promotion, regret is general at losing such a courteous and obliging official as Bob has proved himself to be since entering the local office about three years ago. The date of his departure from Axrowtown is not yet definitely known. ' The death occurred at his residence, “Garguston,” Kurow, on the 25th ult. of Mr Dobert W. Trotter, a prominent resident of North Otago, in his 81st year. The late Mr Trotter was known to many in ffiis district, as he was a frequent competitor at the, Wakatipu Collie Club’s trials, and had also acted as a sheep judge at Lake County A. and P. Shows. He is survived by a son (Mr John Trotter, Oamaru), and a daughter (Mrs A. M. Cameron, “Garguston," Kurow).
