The Birthday Party in connection with the Arrowtown branch of the W.D.F.U. will be held on Friday, 27th August, not on the 24th August as announced in last issue. "The rainfall for the month of July, as recorded by Mias F. Hamilton, Arrowtown, was as follows:—Rainfall for the month, 151 points; days on vlnch rain fell, 10; maximum fall, 62 points on the 11 tli. Thompson and Mr John Robertson. Supper was provided by the ladies, after .which dancing was indulged in. , A branch of the Returned Soldiers Association has been, formed at Haast Pass, with Mr G. Dennison as chairman, and Mr F. Hutton as secretary. It is anticipated that the membership will be between 35 and 40 members. Several local football enthusiasts went to Dunedin for .the OtagoSouthland Eanfurly Shield match on Saturday. . , Good progress is being made with threshing operations Grown Terrace, and, "with fine weather, it is considered that the plant will finish there in a week or ten days.
