OPENING OF CRICKET SEASON.

The opening .game of the Queenstown Cricket Club season took place at Queenstown on Saturday. 12th inst. in a match Captain v. Vice-captain. The day was fine, and the outfield was in good condition. The captain’s side came out the winners by a narrow margin of S runs. All batsmen played confidently and runs came very quickly. J. Hood was the most outstanding bowler, he taking 1 wickets for 5 runs.

The season is expected to be a successful one, and all matches played by the local club will be looked forward to with interest.
