BIG ATTACK on SO UTHER N FRONT.
Preparations for collective measures against Italy under Article 1(3 of the Covenant are proceeding steadily at Geneva.
The Italians are attacking with a big force on the southern front at Wal-Wal and Ogaden.
The position is uuict on the north ern front.
WOOL SALES. At the Sydney wool sales yesterday there was strong general competition, prices being fully equal .to last week’s closing rates
GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS. A Murray, unattached Auckland professional, won the open golf championship with a score of 286; A. J. Shaw, 288, second: and A. D. S. Duncan, the veteran amateur, third with 292. B. V. Wright (Queenstown), had a score of 310.
