MONSTER TUG OF WAR.

The Tug of War which will taire place in the Garrison Hail on Saturday night next should prove a great attraction. Teams from all parts of the district!—as far afield as Cardrona, Skippers, Kingston, (3), Crown Terrace, Goldfields 1 , Sandhills, Long Gully, Oxen bridge, Kawarau—and perhaps ©thesis are promising to compete. It is stated that at least twelve teams will pull. All these teams have' been in solid training.

The whole competition will be concluded in the one night, there.fOiio the ©vent will start sharp at 8 p.m.. Competing teams are requested to be at the hall by 7.30 p.m. at latest for weighing in. The team pulling weight is 61 stone and the captain of the team, as sixth, man, may pull in emergency.

A specially raised pulling platform about 6 feet high is to be erected so that patrons should be able' to see the pulls with ease and comfort. The usual competent official's will control the competition. Teams are l asked to note that definite: nominations must be in by 8 p.m. on Friday and the public are invited to be present at the official draw at the Garrison Hall at 8.30 p.m. the same night. To fill in a couple of necessary sho.it intervals there will be (.some sideshows, etc. Soft drinks and sixpenny supper will be. procurable in the, hall. Admission to hall is 2ts. Instead of teams paying an entrance, fee. the individual members of the teams will pay for admission to hall.
